ABOUT THE FILMMAKER


Holly Goldberg Sloan was educated at Wellesley College, where she received the Senior Awards for fiction and poetry when she graduated in 1980. Her first job following school was at Grey Advertising in New York City. While there, she wrote a screenplay and when she moved to Los Angeles later that year she optioned it to Paramount Pictures. Her career as a writer was launched.

While continuing to write, Goldberg Sloan worked as a commercial producer. In 1982, following her marriage to Producer Chuck Sloan, the Sloans joined forces with Director Eric Saarinen to form Plum Productions. For the next five years, the three traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia filming television commercials.

In 1986, Goldberg Sloan was the Associate Producer on the Ally Sheedy film MAID TO ORDER, which she re-wrote with Director Amy Holden Jones.

In 1993, Goldberg Sloan earned her first solo feature credit as a writer when Michael Douglas produced MADE IN AMERICA for Warner Brothers starring Whoopi Goldberg and Ted Danson. Goldberg Sloan wrote and produced ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD starring Danny Glover and Christopher Lloyd for Walt Disney Studios. She went on to write and direct THE BIG GREEN for Disney, starring Steve Guttenberg and Olivia d’Abo. Recently, Goldberg Sloan wrote MIGHTY JOE YOUNG starring Bill Paxton and Charlize Therone and directed by Ron Underwood.

Her television credits include the mid-season replacement "In the Doghouse" for Tristar Television, the USA cable movie "Indecency" starring Jennifer Beals and James Remar. and commercials for such clients as Intel, Honda, Taco Bell and AT&T.

Ms. Goldberg Sloan resides in Santa Monica with her two sons.
