First Look Studios is a leading independent studio which includes
its wholly owned subsidiary, First Look Home Entertainment, Inc. and three key operating
divisions: First Look Pictures, First Look Television and First Look Branded Content.
The studios’ CEO is
TREVOR SHORT, Dean Wilson is COO. The company is owned and operated by First
Look Holdings, LLC .
First Look Holdings, LLC was created in March of 2007 to acquire a controlling interest
in First Look Studios. Its principals are
AVI LERNER, Henry Winterstern,
DANNY DIMBORT and
TREVOR SHORT.
The guiding force of First Look Studios is to act within a consistent,
focused and financially responsible filmmaking strategy, one that integrates development,
production and distribution into a single sustained process. We see this as a return
to the dynamic entrepreneurial agenda the film industry started out with a century
ago.
In the current global marketplace, major studio projects are often restricted by
multiple corporate loyalties. Personality and the individual voice get lost in answering
the disparate and divergent needs of a multi-national enterprise.
By contrast, First Look is a maverick. We are primarily accountable to ourselves.
We want an audience looking at films from First Look to know - as Howard Hawks once
said - just who made the picture.
Our goal is to support the initial vision of high quality independent filmmakers
with creative collaboration at every step of the process. We believe that there
is no other company in the contemporary filmmaking arena with First Look's distinctive
combination of innovative agenda and substantial financial footing.
It is hard enough to do good work at any time, harder now in a competitive commercial
marketplace. Nevertheless, we firmly believe that our combination of passion, ingenuity
and clear-cut honest responsiveness is the best way to ensure results that make
a difference.
